Stacked with cutting-edge technology gleaned directly from MotoGP and Superbike competition, the YZF-R1 70th Anniversary Edition features a powerful 998cc crossplane CP4 engine, refined Deltabox frame, MotoGP®-inspired carbon fibre winglets and a comprehensive electronics package for the ultimate in performance and control.

Premium Brembo® front brakes and a highly refined KYB® suspension further enhance its track-focused capability. It all comes wrapped in sleek, distinctive R-series styling for an aggressive look to match its advanced performance.

Key Features

MotoGP inspired winglets

Developed through extensive simulator and on-track testing, MotoGP®-inspired carbon fibre winglets create additional downforce for exceptional chassis stability and added front-end feel when braking or cornering.

998cc CP4 engine

Developed using M1 MotoGP technology, the 998cc engine features Bosch injectors that deliver a wide spray angle for increased efficiency. Specially designed finger-follower rocker arms and cam lobes give outstanding high rpm performance – and this EU5 crossplane engine also features a high efficiency lubrication system for optimum performance.

LED headlights

LED headlights are both lightweight and compact, allowing for a more streamlined design of the front cowling with excellent visibility. The lights deliver a broad spread of illumination. LED front turn signals are integrated into the mirrors for improved aerodynamics while the LED tail light is stylish and highly visible.

Premium Brembo brakes

Premium Brembo® Stylema monobloc front brake calipers are paired with a Brembo® master cylinder to offer outstanding braking power and exceptional feel.

High-Spec KYB front suspension

The exceptional KYB® front fork is designed to offer excellent response, road feel and chassis stability. Individual adjusters on the right and left fork tubes offer a full range of adjustability including preload, high- and low-speed compression and rebound adjustments for precise damping control.

Quick Shift System

The YZF-R1 comes equipped with a Quick Shift System that gives faster gear changing. This system instantly cancels drive torque when an upshift is detected - enabling full throttle clutchless upshifts for outstanding acceleration through the close ratio 6-speed transmission.
